They had come up with an initial concept, but whether it would work still required extensive testing.
Su Wei was left alone in Virtual Reality to match the code and study its compatibility.
Su Mo and Ai Jianfeng withdrew and returned to the workshop, where they sat down again.
The large laboratory for everyone's research still had no location. They had not even begun designing it.
For now, it was called a workshop.
In reality, it was merely the previously vacant prefabricated building, divided with simple wooden boards to give each researcher an independent space.
Ai Jianfeng's place was like that.
The entire activity area was only about thirty square meters. After accounting for the bed, machines, and bed-desk cabinets holding books, it was just large enough for three or four people to sit and talk.
Any more than that, and they had to go to the larger meeting room in the middle.
Being close to the machines had another drawback.
Even without deliberately sniffing, Su Mo could distinguish the slightly pungent smell of machine oil in the air, along with the strong rusty odor brought on by the dampness.
"The conditions are still difficult. We have to start over from scratch and explore carefully."
Su Mo sounded both emotional and comforting.
Ai Jianfeng, however, waved it off unconcernedly. He took the water bottle, poured two cups of hot water, then carefully removed a small packet of tea leaves from the desk drawer and sprinkled some into the cups. "It's nothing. Back when I was tackling technical problems on Earth, I slept in the workshop for more than half a year."
"Now, we can conduct ordinary experiments in Virtual Reality and obtain the key data."
"With some auxiliary instruments to verify the results in reality, that'll be enough."
