The old woman's words were so flowery that Mito had no way to refute them.
"Mom, don't say it so bluntly! Uchiha Hiko and I only just met. He's not nearly as wonderful as you make him out to be. I'm ignoring you—I still have laundry to finish."
With that, Mito hurriedly fled, while the old woman's gaze at Uchiha Hiko grew increasingly meaningful.
It felt just like a mother-in-law sizing up her son-in-law.
Naturally, Uchiha Hiko had no idea. After playing with Gon Freecss for a while, Mito invited him inside for a meal.
But seeing nothing but bread and vegetables on the table, Uchiha Hiko lost his appetite. He was used to fine meat and fish, or simply filling his stomach with Senzu Beans.
At that thought, Uchiha Hiko put down the bread in his hand, took out his bag of Senzu Beans, and poured one out for Gon Freecss.
"Kids need to eat something nutritious. Later, I'll take you hunting by the sea. I found these beans during my travels around the world—they're miraculous immortal treasures. Try one. One bean should keep you from needing food for a whole day, and it can strengthen your body too."
At Uchiha Hiko's words, all three of them widened their eyes.
The old woman and Mito naturally knew Uchiha Hiko was not boasting. Such a precious thing, given to a child to eat—it was simply too wasteful.
"You can't! You absolutely can't!"
Uchiha Hiko smiled at the old woman.
"Gon Freecss is my disciple. Anything is suitable for my disciple."
As he spoke, Uchiha Hiko placed the Senzu Bean in Gon Freecss's hand.
The little fellow eagerly swallowed it, and instantly felt the difference in his body.
"S-So amazing!"
He stared wide-eyed at the bag of Senzu Beans spinning in
