Hiko weakened Konoha’s enemies, discovered the destruction of the Uzumaki Clan, and took control of the Nine-Tails after Mito Uzumaki died. As Konoha’s war continued, he protected Kushina and Kyuku, strengthened the Uchiha Clan, and stopped pursuing the Hokage position.

Arc 17The Seven-Tails Raid

Hiko rallied Konoha after an ambush, awakened the Eternal Mangekyo, and exploited distrust between Iwagakure and Sunagakure. He then unleashed the Seven-Tails on Sunagakure’s camp and left both enemy villages dealing with the destruction.

  • Hatake Sakumo and Uchiha Hayashi prepared their surrounded unit to retreat through traps, while Hiko raced to reinforce them.
  • Hiko broke through the encirclement with Susanoo and Ninjutsu, routed the enemy, and forced Ōnoki to halt the pursuit.
  • After returning to camp, Hiko discovered that his eyes had become the Eternal Mangekyo and told Konoha to rest while tensions between the enemy villages grew.
  • Hiko staged provocations between Iwagakure and Sunagakure, then raided their outposts and killed nearly two hundred enemy subordinates.

Arc 18Hiko Breaks Iwagakure

Hiko weakened Sunagakure and Iwagakure in the Land of Rain, then infiltrated the Land of Earth and devastated an Iwagakure army. The Third Kazekage prepared Sunagakure to withdraw as Hiko returned to camp and faced the furious Third Elder.

  • Hiko led Konoha into battle, targeting Sunagakure and driving its small force away from Iwagakure, while Ōnoki ordered his troops to avoid him.
  • The Third Kazekage recalled Sunagakure’s battered force after fewer than fifty of its five hundred fighters returned, while Grandma Chiyo worried that Konoha’s antidotes had undermined the Puppet Unit.
  • Hiko sent a Takigakure delegation away after denying involvement in the Seven-Tails’ appearance, then ordered a plan to cut Iwagakure’s supply route.

Arc 19The Uzumaki Clan Falls

Hiko secured approval to receive the Nine-Tails after Mito Uzumaki’s death, became the Uchiha Clan head, and stayed in Konoha as the war spread. When Kirigakure destroyed the Uzumaki village, Hiko found no survivors and returned to report the clan’s likely fate to the Third Hokage.

  • Hiko predicted Iwagakure and Sunagakure would withdraw, then returned to Konoha as both villages pulled back from the Land of Rain.

Arc 20The Nine-Tails and the War

After the Uzumaki Clan’s destruction and Mito Uzumaki’s death, Hiko protected Kushina and Kyuku while taking control of the Nine-Tails. As Konoha’s war with Sunagakure dragged on and the Senju suffered heavy losses, Hiko strengthened the Uchiha Clan and reconsidered his ambitions for the Hokage position.

  • Hiko told Kyuku Uzumaki and Kushina that their clan and parents had been killed, then went with the Third Hokage to Mito Uzumaki as her condition worsened.
  • Mito asked the Third Hokage to care for the Senju Clan and tell Hiko to treat Tsunade well before she died.
