Arc 29Akatsuki’s First Hunt

As Hiko drove Iwagakure back, Nagato’s Six Paths of Pain captured the Seven-Tails and devastated Sunagakure to seize the One-Tail. Hiko chose not to interfere with Akatsuki’s sealing plans, leaving the group to turn next toward Kumogakure and the Two-Tails.

  • After Yahiko and many Akatsuki members died in Hanzo’s attack, Nagato vowed to fulfill Yahiko’s dream, while Hiko warned Jiraiya that his disciples’ fate could make them enemies.
  • Sunagakure persuaded Iwagakure to join its war against Konoha, and Ōnoki declared war, forcing Konoha to fight on two fronts.
  • Hiko and Hatake Sakumo stopped Iwagakure’s advance with the Nine-Tails, and Ōnoki withdrew while Konoha’s forces prepared for a prolonged conflict.

Arc 30The Five Villages Unite

Hiko exposed Danzo’s crimes and forced Konoha into a crisis over the Uchiha and Shimura clans, then helped unite the Five Great Shinobi Villages against Akatsuki. The villages prepared an assault on the Land of Rain while Black Zetsu continued the Infinite Tsukuyomi Plan.

  • Sasori and Kakuzu abducted Yugito Nii, while the Six Paths of Pain captured Roshi, spreading alarm about Akatsuki’s attacks.
  • Hiruzen discovered Danzo and Orochimaru’s experiments, and Hiko confronted Danzo over stolen Uchiha Sharingan and his use of Hashirama’s cells.

Arc 31The Rain War Begins

The Five Great Shinobi Villages invaded the Land of Rain, where Akatsuki’s Six Paths of Pain devastated their forces and declared war. Hiko stayed out of the fighting as the villages formed an alliance, and the Allied Shinobi Forces entered the Land of Rain only to face Akatsuki’s White Zetsu army.

  • Nagato ordered Kakuzu and Jyuuzou Biwa to capture Ban, the Five-Tails Jinchuriki, while he and Konan prepared to defend the Land of Rain from the invading villages.
  • Hiko kept Konoha’s forces on supply duty as the other four villages invaded, then dumped their supplies into the mud after their leaders excluded him from a strategy meeting.
  • Akatsuki captured Ban, and the Four Kage learned that only two Akatsuki members had overcome Iwagakure’s guards to seize him.

As Akatsuki captured Killer B and pursued the Nine-Tails, Jyuuzou Biwa revived powerful dead shinobi to attack the Allied forces, leaving the Third and Ōnoki to face a new crisis.

  • Hiko proposed a way to expose White Zetsu by having shinobi stop circulating Chakra, and the Allied Shinobi Forces used it to identify and eliminate infiltrators.
