Letting the melting ice pack slide from her head, Towa's face was flushed, her breath soft and fragrant. Even her misty eyes, raised toward Ash as she propped herself up, were veiled in a thin haze.
Although he had learned from Puff that Towa had caught a cold, seeing the girl so frail—especially hearing her unguarded, breathy gasps—made him feel somewhat excited.
Damn it, Towa was actually kind of cute when she tried so hard to endure it.
"It's only a cold. It's nothing."
"Is that so?" Naturally, he did not take her word for it. Gently lifting the girl's damp bangs, Ash pressed his forehead against her burning one. "At this rate, you could boil an egg on it. Still forcing yourself to keep going... what a worrying, stubborn Princess."
"I'm sorry..."
"But it's fine. You're my Princess, after all. As your King, of course I'll indulge your stubbornness. Tell me, where else does it hurt?"
"I feel a little cold, and my throat hurts too..."
"Open your mouth."
"Ah—" Ash dabbed her tongue with a cotton swab and confirmed it. "Typical symptoms. Your teeth are quite pretty too. Looks like you brush them properly every day. All right, drink this medicine."
"Thank—ugh!" Towa had barely swallowed some before nearly spraying it back out. "Cough! What is this? It's so bitter!"
I've never heard of cold medicine being this bitter! If I have to drink this stuff, I'd rather wait for it to heal on its own.
"Good medicine tastes bitter." Just as she was about to say something else, Ash suddenly leaned in with overwhelming pressure. "If you won't drink your medicine properly, are you asking for me to feed it to you mouth-to-mouth? Wishful thinking. Though if it's Towa, I wouldn't mind."
"I understand! I'll drink it
