Background

Qing Lin was born in Stone Desert City in the Tagor Desert with green snake scales on her body. Her mother named her for those scales, but Qing Lin's mixed bloodline left her shunned by other children and abused by local adults, who called her an omen and blamed her for mercenaries' deaths. Her mother was her only source of care and support. 31

After her mother died from illness, Qing Lin was left alone. Liu Xi found her in Stone Desert City, reassured her that her existence had meaning, and invited her to travel with him; Qing Lin accepted, regarding wherever Liu Xi was as her home. 30 31

Liu Xi provided her with Grain-Avoiding Pills for nourishment and conditioning, brought her into his care, and began training her in Dou Qi. Qing Lin accompanied him into the Tagor Desert during his search for the Green Lotus Core Flame. 31 32

Qing Lin was initially a thin, dark-haired girl with a frail body shaped by hardship. Her green snake scales and unusual eyes marked her as different from ordinary humans. 30 31

Qing Lin is introduced as an orphaned mixed-blood girl in Stone Desert City. Liu Xi takes her in, and she accompanies him beneath the Tagor Desert in pursuit of the Green Lotus Core Flame. 31 32

At the magma lake, she awakens the Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils, controls the Two-Headed Fire Spirit Snake, and enables Liu Xi to continue his search for the Heavenly Flame. 33 34

Heavenly Snake Manor

The Heavenly Snake Manor pursues Qing Lin because of her unique pupils. Although she initially refuses to leave Liu Xi, she agrees to become the Mansion Lord's disciple and Heavenly Snake Saintess after the confrontation over her future. 49 73 74

Years later, Qing Lin returns to Heavenly Snake City as a celebrated Dou Zun Saintess after defeating a rampaging Seventh-order Gloomy Ghost Tiger. Her cold public demeanor disappears when she recognizes Liu Xi and calls him Young Master. 410

Qing Lin chooses to leave Heavenly Snake Manor with Liu Xi. Her Dou Zun aura silences the manor's elders, while Liu Xi's own status forces the Mansion Lord and elders to accept the decision. 412

In the Bone Mountain Range, Qing Lin follows a mysterious summons and discovers the Ancient Tian She's soul. She uses her pupils to attempt control, but must contend with its malevolent instincts. 438 439 443
