"Really nothing?" After Jazz brought Shiryu to the outskirts, they found no trace of anything. He could not help feeling disappointed, and even began to doubt his own judgment a little.
Shiryu teased, "Don't give up! Keep looking. Maybe the enemy is just up ahead!"
Jazz rolled his eyes at him and said nothing, though he was hesitating over whether to keep searching.
Just then, several people came running frantically from a distant intersection. Judging by their expressions, they seemed to have been terrified by something. They fled for their lives without even stopping to catch their breath.
"Hey! What are you running for?" Jazz called out to them from afar. "Is there a man-eating monster up ahead?"
Before the man even got close, he shrieked, "There are lots of monsters there! It's terrifying! They're fighting, and it feels like they're going to bring down the sky!"
"Hm?" Jazz was startled. He turned to Shiryu and said, "Something's happening!"
Shiryu was speechless. "Do you really have to stick your nose into everything?"
Jazz hesitated before saying, "Let's go take a look?"
Shiryu shook his head helplessly. "Your call!"
The two immediately stopped those fleeing people and asked what had happened, but they were so panicked that they could not explain clearly. They did point Jazz and Shiryu in a direction, though.
The two sped off and raced all the way there. After nearly another ten minutes of running, they finally arrived at the place where those so-called monsters were fighting.
Jazz and Shiryu stood in a concealed spot and saw more than a hundred people surrounding a group and attacking them fiercely.
Those people were exceptionally formidable. Their battle was tremendously destructive, shattering rocks and sending trees flying.
"Hm?" Among the besieged group, Jazz spotted a kid wearing a straw
