"Due date?"
Ronglin himself had barely paid attention to the timing, and he had not expected Uchiha Sasuke to be born so soon.
"Yes. I ask that Lord Hokage grant approval."
The already short Itachi was half-kneeling on the floor; from Ronglin's angle, he looked like a tiny little thing.
"You little guy."
Ronglin could not help being amused. "Although I'd very much like to let you go back and rest for a while to keep your mother company, do you really think it's appropriate for a boy like you to look after your mother while she gives birth?"
Itachi's serious little face made Ronglin unable to resist teasing him.
"I'm only keeping my mother company. As for delivering the baby, the nurses from the Medical Department will handle that," Itachi said with perfect seriousness.
Ronglin froze on the spot. He suddenly realized Itachi was becoming less and less cute.
"Of course I know the hospital nurses will handle the delivery. What, was I supposed to count on a little brat like you to do it?"
Patting his own forehead, Ronglin waved his hand and said irritably, "Go on. I'll give you some time off."
Little Itachi slowly rose, bowed, and only then spoke:
"On behalf of my mother and my unborn younger brother, or Younger Sister, I thank Lord Hokage for your tolerance."
"I swear—"
The smile on Ronglin's face stiffened, and his raised hand froze in midair.
"Get lost. Go home and get ready to babysit!!"
Seeing that Itachi looked like he was about to continue, Ronglin started shooing him away. This little guy—what kind of thing was that to say? Was I that harsh on your whole family?
Anyone who didn't know better would think I abused you and your mother. Besides, what does that have to
