Background / History

Ronglin was originally an overworked game designer commissioned to create an exceptionally powerful character for a Naruto web game. After completing its setup—giving it endlessly upgradeable dōjutsu and time-based powers—he was transported into the Naruto world and woke in a classroom as Uchiha Ronglin. 1

Although his ties to the Uchiha Clan had been severed, Ronglin awakened the Sharingan at seven. The Third Hokage arranged for Tsunade to mentor him, both to guide his growth and to provide protection against possible Uchiha or Hyūga pressure. Ronglin actively sought the Hokage's attention and resources because he lacked a clan foundation of his own. 8 16

He later became an official genin under Tsunade and proved unusually perceptive about Konoha's political economy and the importance of patronage. 23 30 During his early Uchiha connections, Uchiha Izumi Nishi trained his genjutsu, correcting a weakness in Ronglin's combat repertoire. 117
