Professor Snape was not always hated by the young wizards. At the very least, Sean looked forward to seeing the Potions Professor in the Dungeon.

Though he enjoyed sarcasm, the knowledge he taught would not disappear.

That knowledge came from the years of accumulated experience of a Potions Master. It was always precisely what Sean needed, benefiting him greatly.

By evening, Hogwarts' corridors were steeped in a lazy, warm atmosphere.

The setting sun cast golden light through the towering arched windows, throwing long patches of light across the cold stone floor.

In the distance, the edge of the Forbidden Forest began to blur. A thin veil of dusk spread out from between the trees, slowly swallowing the tops of the towering pines.

Sean carried a small black bag on his back, passing by the young wizards roughhousing in the halls.

As he walked past, several Hufflepuffs looked up at him, but none spoke for a while.

An orphan living at school would not have many opportunities to make money.

Doing homework for others—though the income was low, and there might be competitors.

Buying things on others' behalf—he would need to learn a few secret passages, and Sean suspected the twins had already entered that line of work.

The method he favored most was going to the Greenhouse—Professor Sprout was more than willing to give young wizards some seeds. Sean could grow them himself, then sell them.

Earning Gold Galleons was important, but if making money took up time he should have spent studying magic,

Sean would consider it a poor trade.

It was like his History of Magic notes. Sean would not rush to complete them just because he needed Gold Galleons.
