Sean silently put away the Quill Lollipop, while Hermione fell into a helpless silence.
When Sean placed the real Quill on the table, he turned and saw Hermione glaring at Justin, who was trying to hold back his laughter,
as though she would turn him into a skunk the moment he laughed.
"If you want to laugh, just laugh."
Sean sighed.
"Ha ha ha—Sean, Hermione, don't tell me you thought it was a real Quill?
This is the second funniest joke I've heard today..."
Justin laughed so hard he could barely stand straight.
"Jus-tin!"
Hermione puffed out her cheeks.
Upon hearing that, Justin instantly wiped the amusement from his face.
"Oh, Hermione, teach me. I've been learning the Accio Charm too recently, but I've never managed to succeed. Do you think it might be a problem with my gesture?"
"...You hesitate too much when you wave your wand."
Hermione calmed her inexplicable embarrassment and irritation, then seriously began instructing Justin.
Sean shifted his attention to the Quill,
then took another broken Quill from his bag. One of a Quill's traits was its durability,
but that did not seem to apply to Sean.
Although he had cleverly carved away at the feather's hard shaft with a knife, continually extending the Quill's lifespan,
things that broke would eventually break. The worn-away parts of a Quill could never be restored.
"Accio—Quill!"
He pronounced the incantation precisely. The Quill shook violently before lightly flying into his hand.
