Arakawa Ghost Village had grown even more desolate.
Uesugi Tetsu walked down the empty streets, shouting several times at the top of his lungs, but he did not see even a trace of a minor monster. The same was true even after he released Hundred-Eyed Demon's eyeballs to scout the area.
This had thoroughly ruined his plan to bully the weak and farm soul ash.
He had no idea what had happened to make the minor monsters that had once been everywhere disappear without a trace.
Uesugi Tetsu guessed that something might have gone wrong at the factory—after all, ever since he entered, he had not heard the rumbling sound of machinery that he used to hear every time.
He only hoped the little one had not disappeared along with them.
Following the route in his memory, Uesugi Tetsu arrived in front of the blacksmith shop. There, he vaguely heard the repeated clangs of hammering coming from the back courtyard of the Machiya, sometimes crisp and sometimes dull.
Clang! Bang! Bang! Clang!
There was no one in the shop. Presumably, the hammering from the back was the little one's doing.
Uesugi Tetsu knocked on the threshold and said, "I'm coming in," which counted as a greeting.
He entered the nearly empty shop and searched for quite a while before finally spotting the half-concealed wooden door in a lightless corner.
When he pushed open the wooden door, a narrow passageway came into view. On either side grew plants Uesugi Tetsu had never seen before.
Clear dewdrops constantly fell from the tops of the plants. He had no idea what miraculous technique was being used to accomplish it.
Uesugi Tetsu touched one of the leaves, and a prompt immediately appeared before his eyes—
``` [Spirit Grass]
