After finishing the morning recovery training, Boloni headed straight for the Technical Director's office.
This was the notice he had received before training.
On the way, Lionel Pontes caught up from behind. He was now a member of the technical team.
"Have you heard what it's about?" Boloni asked with concern.
The technical department had fixed routine meetings, mainly to discuss various football-related matters. A temporary meeting notice like today's was usually called only when something had happened.
Pontes shook his head. "I only found out before training too. It seems to be about the Second Team."
After hearing that, Boloni's brow still did not ease.
If it was about the Second Team, they could just go to Second Team head coach Jean James. Why did he have to attend too?
It definitely was not that simple.
The two arrived side by side at Technical Director Aurelio Pereira's office.
They had just knocked and opened the door when they discovered that Second Team head coach Jean James was already sitting inside, along with another member of the technical team, Nuno Nare.
But what truly surprised them was that Football Director Carlos Freitas was there as well.
Football Director and Technical Director were two different posts. In the club's management system, the Football Director could be considered the Technical Director's superior, because the Technical Director was only responsible for technical matters, youth training, and the like, while the Football Director had more operational authority, even including life-and-death powers such as appointing the head coach, renewing players' contracts, and handling transfers.
If Aurelio Pereira had summoned them over for a meeting, this should have been a technical matter. But with the Football Director present too, it meant that what they were about to discuss was connected to the club leadership's thinking.
