Fafnir's gaze was icy. "What right do you have to make me answer you?"
Fafnir's words were almost exactly the same as what she had said before he fell unconscious. Yet Angel could clearly tell that, though the meaning behind her words was the same, her tone had softened somewhat compared to before.
Perhaps this was not entirely impossible to negotiate.
"Honorable Lady Fafnir, what must someone as lowly as me do for you to answer my questions?" Angel asked respectfully.
Angel's attitude clearly pleased Fafnir. At last, he no longer called himself lowly with every breath and foolish with every word.
"It is not impossible to tell you, but I need you to do something for me." As Fafnir said this, an almost imperceptible dimness passed through her eyes.
"What is it?" Angel looked at Fafnir cautiously. If even someone of Fafnir's strength could not accomplish it, then he likely could not either.
Fafnir seemed to see through Angel's thoughts and gave a cold laugh. "I will take you somewhere. You need only deliver a message for me."
Deliver a message? It did not sound difficult, but considering the connections someone of Fafnir's stature would have, the recipient was likely a towering figure in their own right. She would not go herself, yet wanted someone else to deliver a message for her. There was clearly some reason she did not want to go, could not go, or dared not go.
Either danger, restrictions, or rejection. Those were probably the only three reasons Fafnir would need someone to deliver a message for her.
And all three of those broad possibilities carried a certain kind of danger.
Angel's thoughts spun rapidly. He had wanted to ask for the specific reason, but feared touching upon Fafnir's taboo, so he could only phrase
