This was a gloomy hall.

Outside the hall lay chaotic darkness, without a trace of light. Yet inside, there was some illumination, though it was dim and yellow, like whale-oil lamps lit in a stale tomb passage, casting light for corpses.

Through that light, one could see that the hall's structure was exceedingly ancient, much like the buildings of the primordial era before light arrived. Vines crisscrossed everywhere, calling to mind the writhing maggots of a sinful world. The walls were covered in mottled marks, as though smeared with mashed brains—pale and feeble, dim and decayed.

Though this hall standing amid chaotic darkness looked like a relic of the past, the shadows cast upon its walls by the dim flames showed that it was far from as deserted as its exterior suggested.

Shadows moved back and forth; Light and Shadow Interweave.

Many demons came and went within the hall. They would vanish from time to time, then return again.

When they left, the demons' hands were empty. But when they arrived at the hall, they carried metal vessels. Those vessels of every shape and kind were filled with scorching, boiling blood.

The aura radiating from that blood even steamed the surrounding space into slight distortion.

A small shadow demon appeared out of thin air outside the hall. It held a metal tray inlaid with emeralds, its craftsmanship clearly that of Cold Antiquity Era natives.

The shadow demon seemed to like the tray very much. Not only did it cradle it carefully in both hands, but it even wrapped its slender tail around the bottom, afraid of dropping and breaking it.

Holding the tray with great care, the shadow demon beat its wings and flew straight into the hall.

The hall's style was completely consistent with the outside—stale and primitive. There
