"What?!" A woman's voice suddenly rose in pitch. "Damn it, why did it have to be at a time like this... All right, I understand."
Kant watched Sinafa cut off the communication, then stepped out of the darkness.
"Kant, Maher sent word. Have Samantha return immediately. We have to retreat." Doubt and helplessness both lingered in Sinafa's fiery eyes.
Although Kant had been keeping an eye on Samantha's side earlier, he had still vaguely overheard Sinafa's conversation with Maher. It seemed that some upheaval had occurred in Lasudelan.
"I understand." Kant did not immediately ask for the reason. Instead, through the connection after merging with the night, he located Samantha on the other side of Prey Hall.

Lowering her head, she saw a figure suddenly standing before one of Prey Hall's windows below. Through the glazed window, she could make out a figure in flaming red robes. She could not see its face clearly, but Samantha knew that it had definitely been the one looking at her earlier.
