While Mandhaila was at a loss, a gusting wind sounded overhead.
Mandhaila looked up in puzzlement, only to see a black silhouette appear in the sky. It swept from the rooftop of one building to that of another, looking utterly dashing... It would have looked even more dashing if the silhouette had noticed the wall directly in front of it.
Unfortunately, the silhouette seemed to be looking back in another direction and had not noticed the wall ahead.
By the time it sensed that something was wrong, it was already too late.
With a violent crash, the silhouette fell from the sky amid countless tumbling bricks and fragments, slamming heavily into the ground.
It happened to land at the bend of the alley, not far from Mandhaila.
After hesitating for a moment, Mandhaila walked to the corner, wanting to see how the person who had fallen from the sky was doing.
Yet when she poked her head out to look, she saw that the silhouette was standing steadily as though nothing had happened. Instead, there was a huge crater in the ground.
The silhouette had his back to Mandhaila and was muttering, "I actually crashed into another wall. This doesn't fit my character aesthetic at all... If Frod finds out, he'll definitely nag me again. Mm, no one saw that, right? Right?"
As he muttered, he seemed to sense something and abruptly turned around, his gaze meeting Mandhaila's at once.
"There really is someone in this alley!"
Mandhaila looked at the person before her. He was tall and powerfully built, wearing a horned helmet that concealed most of his face. His leather jacket hung open, revealing firm abdominal muscles. Faint totem-like patterns covered his body, giving him the air of a primitive, barbaric tribe.
