When Alex rose at dawn to clean the church, he noticed the phantom of a blond young man floating above it.
At the time, however, Alex did not take it seriously.
He thought he was hallucinating.
Ever since Father Bolunlang had adopted him and brought him back to Kruya Church, he had occasionally experienced hallucinations. Sometimes he saw phantoms flash past before his eyes; other times, he saw inexplicable scenes in which he himself played equally inexplicable roles.
Alex had been troubled by these hallucinations for a long time and had sought Father Bolunlang's help.
Father Bolunlang had remained silent for a long while, then stroked Alex's hair and said compassionately, "It seems you once went through something very painful. Perhaps that is why you lost your memories."

Yet strangely, Alex's previous hallucinations had only flashed by, while this blond figure had remained for more than half a day without disappearing.
At first, the blond figure looked around from above the church. Later, he descended and followed behind Alex. From the time Alex and Father Bolunlang entered the church until Alex comforted Mrs. Connie, he had lingered nearby the entire time.
That made Alex realize that perhaps this blond figure was not a hallucination, but a real "person."
