After Motuo'er shouted, he heard a whistling gust of wind behind him. Without hesitation, he shifted away. The instant he left, enormous fireballs, energy arrows bursting with force, and fierce winds that fanned the flames all surged in.
When those attacks vanished into the glow where he had been, Toby let out a shrill cry.
Delight flashed through everyone's eyes.

The previous attacks had kicked up billowing smoke and dust. With the energy obscuring everything, they could not see Toby's exact condition for the moment. But by all reason, after that miserable scream, the dust should have churned even more violently, because it would surely have made some movement.
But why had the dust not stirred? Or had it already died?
The best outcome would naturally be for it to drop dead on the spot, but could it really be this easy? Hailey watched the dust in the distance gradually settle, an inexplicable unease rising in her heart.
The source of that unease was not merely the utter stillness within. There was also... the Nameless Fire lingering in their hearts, still quietly burning, as if it wanted to scorch a hole through the depths of their souls.
As everyone's emotions were tormented by the Nameless Fire and their nerves
