White Dove Library was named for the white pigeons that circled overhead all day long. It was one of Sky Mechanical City's foremost libraries.
As usual, White Dove Library remained open to the public twenty-four hours a day. The only difference was that there were fewer people in the library than usual today.
"Probably because of that terrifying aura from earlier?" The speaker was one of White Dove Library's female librarians. During their downtime, they would gather before the floor-to-ceiling windows, chatting as they watched the view of the sky outside.
With so few visitors today, they had little work and more time to slack off.
Beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, the evening glow had dyed the entire horizon red, as though it had been set ablaze—a vivid scarlet, like the blood-colored sky described in the famous novel "Destruction Descends."
"According to the information sent by the Magic-Energy Eye, the creature giving off that terrifying aura has already left. I wonder whether we can believe it," another librarian said quietly.
"I heard rumors from some formal wizards outside that this terrifying aura might have come from a being above legendary level, one capable of crushing Sky Mechanical City."
"Really? Above legendary level?" The speaker covered her mouth, her eyes round with disbelief.
"It should be true, but that also indirectly proves that the information spread by the Magic-Energy Eye should be true. A legendary-level powerhouse had no need to merely flash an aura. If such an existence descended, that aura should have been unbroken and ceaseless. So, they must have left." With the evening glow outside as her backdrop, the female librarian's eyes shone with longing. "I wonder what lies beyond legendary level. I really want to see it for myself."
