Nis looked suspiciously at Reynolds, who hovered in midair.
Reynolds looked equally astonished. He stared at the Authority Eye flashing red, doubt in his gaze.
Nis said, "Is this a warning that the number of items taken is nearing the limit? Could someone else have entered the display room and taken things today?"

But Nis had followed the display room's rules and taken only three items. By all rights, that should not have triggered a warning. The only possibility Nis could think of was that he had not been the only one to enter the display room today. Others, such as the researchers here, might also have entered and taken items, so after he took three more, the limit was nearly reached.

Nis's heart skipped a beat. He hurriedly asked, "What does this mean? Has the magic energy array already been triggered? Are we leaving this place?"
"No. I don't think the magic energy array was triggered. It should be some other mechanism." Reynolds wore a contemplative expression. "It feels familiar, but I can't quite remember..."
After pondering for several seconds, Reynolds suddenly seemed to remember something. His eyes lit up. "I remember now, sir! I remember!"
But Nis did not turn
