As it spread, countless contract glyphs could be seen within it, being born and dying away.
At the same time, contract glyphs drifted from Olao's body. When they first appeared, they were somewhat sluggish, carrying a heavy air of decay. But when these glyphs sensed the spreading cloud of golden ink in the air, it was as though enlightenment had been poured over their heads. They gave a sudden shudder, their decay transforming into tiny wings that carried the contract glyphs toward the golden ink, where they merged with it.
This "Fusion" was, in truth, the Dissolution of the contract shackles on Olao.
Meanwhile, some contract glyphs also drifted from Adanis's body, though far fewer than Olao's. Moreover, most of these contract glyphs were covered in cracks. Even without merging into the golden ink, they would likely dissipate on their own before long.
Even so, the Alchemy Puppet separated out a portion of the golden ink, preparing to merge it with the contract glyphs on Adanis's body.
But Adanis gave a cold snort, drawing the released contract glyphs back into her body... She had rejected the golden ink.
Olao was currently having his contract shackles removed and did not see this scene. But the Alchemy Puppet cast a glance in her direction, its eyes filled with inquiry.
Adanis said flatly, "Time has worn away most of my contract. I can remove what remains myself. There is no need for you to spend your strength."
