Behind the main display stage, atop Cloud Soil shrouded by thick mist, stood a Crystal Palace.
This palace had been built by the Crystal-Eyed Race for the Singers and the Featherwood Clan. It also served as the temporary base of the Singers and the Featherwood Clan.
Inside the palace, a green-skinned woman in a rose-vine gown fanned the two enormous drooping leaves hanging from her ears and drifted down from midair.
She floated leisurely down before a mirror displaying the image of the exhibition stage.
Near the mirror stood several Featherwood Clan members of her own kind, as well as several Singer clansmen standing like statues. Most of the Gosen Mirror Domain visitors, however, lingered beyond the mirror, whispering among themselves in the dark shadows.
Only an artist statue holding a flute stood before the mirror, bathed in the light shining down from the palace ceiling.
Anyone who had watched this exhibition would recognize the identities of the woman in the rose-vine gown and the statue holding the flute.
They were Lady Roseleaf of the Featherwood Clan and Magic Flute of the Singers, both of whom had appeared onstage earlier.
"How was it?" Magic Flute asked, looking at Lady Roseleaf as she descended.
Magic Flute's voice carried a metallic texture. Together with the sheen of his black-gold skin beneath the overhead light, he truly resembled a living metal statue.
"Just as you predicted, I found an unusual loophole in one of the crystal tiles on the palace roof. Presumably, it was left there to make it easier for that 'Spirit' to investigate us." Lady Roseleaf's voice was far gentler, like a breeze brushing across one's face, exceedingly pleasant.
Lady Roseleaf's earlier descent from the air had not been play. She had been verifying Magic Flute's speculation, checking whether the Crystal-Eyed
