On the surface, dusk was settling over the settlement. The locals were heading back to Rabbit Tower to rest. Only An remained near a crystal-stone cottage under construction, silently watching the sky. Passersby occasionally followed her gaze, but saw nothing. To them, the sky was empty. An, however, could see a strange patch of space. The air there shimmered like frosted glass, though there was no fire or heat to distort it. And it was sending out a signal. No one else seemed able to sense it, but An received it easily. It carried no message, yet drew her closer like an irresistible fragrance. "Of course, I'm not giving it to you for free. I'm only lending it to you. If you get a transformation item later, you'll have to return this costume," the rabbit girl said seriously. "And there's a price."
Seeing the faintly bashful look in Lusange's eyes, the rabbit girl understood. Was this another Mirror Dragon who admired An?
"Rabbits..." Lusange paused. She caught the sly look in the rabbit girl's eyes and seemed to understand. "All right. Anything rabbit-related that I can give you, I will." How had these three—no, this girl, dog, and dragon—ended up together?
"It's right there," the lantern-carrying girl said, pointing at the patch of "frosted glass" in the sky. The fur had a wild beauty to it. She shook her head. "I didn't fly up. I cheated and jumped. Then I touched Wonderland's gate. And... it was just as my dad said. Humans can't enter this Wonderland." The rabbit girl said, "It's a Wonderland item. This one."
She was exquisitely delicate, as beautiful as a pale doll, seemingly fragile yet striking. As the rabbit girl spoke, she stole a glance at the Hound Butler. Before long, they reached the crystal-stone cottage.
