Fashion Magic Books were both the casting mediums of fashion mages and their "card-drawing" machines.
The former was easy enough to understand. If fashion mages wanted to cast spells, they inevitably needed a Fashion Magic Book as their medium.
But why was the latter called a "card-drawing machine"?
The reason was that the abilities absorbed by a Fashion Magic Book were not fixed, but random.
Once fashion mages collected all the puzzle pieces of a certain fashion demonic beast, the magic book would record the abilities possessed by that fashion demonic beast.
However, the magic book would not record all of that fashion demonic beast's abilities. Instead, it would randomly draw one to three abilities from it.
That was "drawing cards."
What abilities were drawn was entirely random.
According to the classifications of fashion mages, the abilities possessed by fashion demonic beasts were divided into three types: regular abilities, special abilities, and hidden abilities.
"Regular abilities" referred to abilities that a fashion demonic beast was guaranteed to possess. For example, the Phantom Cat was guaranteed to have the ability "Phantom Costume Change." Thus, "Phantom Costume Change" was a regular ability.
"Special abilities" were abilities possessed by only a very small number of fashion demonic beasts. These abilities were highly mysterious and could cause the fashion demonic beasts to evolve into special forms.
For instance, if the fashion demonic beast known as the Buzz Octopus possessed the ability "Red Heat," it could evolve into the special form—the Hotspot Octopus.
In this form, all regular abilities would receive a massive boost.
If fashion mages randomly drew such special abilities, they could likewise gain the corresponding bonuses.
For example, after a fashion mage obtained the ability "Red Heat," once he used it, he would enter a certain special casting form. Casting the Hotspot
