Still, while he could not put together an outfit himself, he could imitate how others dressed.
Not long after, he arrived near an entertainment newspaper office in the central district.
Sitting on a bench by the street, he silently observed the staff coming and going from the newspaper office through the shifting light and shadows of holographic flowers and plants. There were quite a few gossip reporters among them.
After observing carefully for a while, he gradually got the gist of how reporters dressed.
Work jackets, trench coats, shirts, knitwear...
Casual trousers, cargo pants... sneakers, short boots, tactical shoes...
What clothes one wore was not important. What mattered was keeping a low profile and avoiding attention, while having plenty of pockets. Trousers and shoes likewise needed to be comfortable, making it easier to run away.
The key was accessories: backpacks, messenger bags, hats, sunglasses, binoculars, long- and short-range flash cameras, voice recorders... and so on.
Moreover, these accessories needed to possess an "inconspicuous" quality.
After all, for a gossip reporter, the two most crucial things were, first, being good at running away; second, avoiding being noticed by outsiders as much as possible.
Once he had a rough idea, April First began putting together his outfit.
A black hoodie paired with a dark hooded jacket, cargo pants with tactical shoes, plus a bucket hat, sunglasses, and a mask.
All of those could be bought at fashion stores.
But the things that could not be bought there—or rather, that he could not afford—included flash cameras, voice recorders, holographic concealment devices... Every single one started at four digits, while a holographic concealment device cost more than five digits.
Yet to complete the perfect gossip reporter outfit,
