This was not actually a secret.
Though she had never explicitly mentioned it in the Abyss, quite a few wizards who knew her past were aware of it. And after coming to the Abyss, she had never stopped gathering intelligence on the Red Plague Great Demon God.
Anyone with a mind for it could make a few connections and guess what she intended.
So, after pondering for a moment, she decided to say it aloud.
"Revenge against the Red Plague... You've got quite the nerve." Nomephins's voice carried a trace of barely perceptible surprise.
Though the Decayer said nothing, its suddenly constricted pupils made it clear that it likely thought the same.
Liriel's expression remained calm. It was not a deliberate pretense; from the bottom of her heart, she simply did not think there was anything wrong with "raising a blade against a god."
In the end, their perceptions were simply different.
Nomephins was a native lifeform of the Abyss. In its understanding, Demon Gods were the rulers of the Abyss, beings who stood above all living creatures. Though the Decayer was not born in the Abyss, it had spent many years there and served beneath a Demon God, so its understanding was no different from that of most Abyssal lifeforms.
To them, godslaying was a treasonous act of overstepping one's station. Naturally, they found it shocking.
But Liriel was different.
She was a human wizard.
The war between wizards and Demon Gods had stretched on for ages. Slaying gods or being devoured by gods was commonplace, so she could easily speak such words that sounded "blasphemous."
Of course, Liriel also knew their perceptions were worlds apart. She had deliberately thrown out those words precisely to shatter the blandness of her answers with a goal as earth-shattering as a stone
