A hollow in a withered tree.
The moment One-Eyed Dragon jolted awake, his back was drenched in cold sweat.
He sat there in a daze for quite a while, then looked around and confirmed that he was still inside the tree hollow. Only then did he realize... he had just had a nightmare.
One-Eyed Dragon had mostly forgotten what the nightmare was about. The only thing he remembered was how real it had felt.
He seemed to have truly drawn his bow and arrow, then fired at that wandering evil spirit, and after that...
His memories turned into a complete blank.
Only his heart kept pounding wildly, as though he had gone through some unspeakably terrifying journey.
One-Eyed Dragon rubbed his temples. Though he had only just slept, he did not feel restored in the slightest. Instead, he was exhausted beyond measure, even feeling weak.
"Boss, are you alright?" a voice sounded from beside him.
One-Eyed Dragon turned back. It was one of his men. He shook his head. "I'm fine. I've just been too tired lately."
"Yeah, especially tired. It'd be nice if we could leave sooner," another subordinate said gloomily.
The moment he finished speaking, several people shot him daggers. "We are great thieves with lofty faith. Stop thinking about enjoying yourselves all day long."
"Exactly! Once we find the evil spirit's supernatural secret, we won't be ordinary thieves anymore—we'll be immortal thieves!"
When his subordinate mentioned supernatural thieves, One-Eyed Dragon instinctively touched the stone slab beneath him. Its uneven markings carried a certain warm, mellow feel.
"That's right. Heh heh, when the time comes, we won't have to worry about being hunted down anymore. Those bastards from the Radiant Church can just wait—"
"Hisss—"
