After hearing Ms. Moon's plan, Glaimo had a nagging feeling that something was wrong.
Emotionally, of course he wanted Shi En to live, especially after his earlier reversal in understanding. He felt deeply guilty toward Shi En, and that guilt made him instinctively want to agree when he heard the idea of "returning Shi En to his original body."
But once he set those feelings aside and looked at the question again, Glaimo saw the problem: he certainly wanted Shi En to live, but if he did, what would happen to Glaimo's sister?
Ms. Moon had said they would "stall and wait for a change," but that change was an unknown variable, while Shi En's body was a definite, safe option.
Now Ms. Moon was taking away that safe option and giving his sister Ligota a future full of uncertainty. How could that compare to simply resurrecting her in Shi En's body?
At that thought, Glaimo asked urgently, "Then what about my sister?"
Ms. Moon knew exactly what Glaimo was thinking. She smiled faintly. "Your sister can be nurtured within a Soul Tree for now and wait for circumstances to change."
Perhaps worried that Glaimo did not know what a Soul Tree was, she thoughtfully explained, "A Soul Tree is a plant cultivated by soul sorcerers. It draws power from the earth's ley lines and can nurture a living soul over a long period. A soul resting in the tree will also steadily gain soul power... You could think of the Soul Tree as a soul sorcerer's bed. Whenever they want to rest, they let their living souls stay in the tree instead of their bodies."
