As he rode back in the carriage, Angel was still pondering the information Gorman had gathered. Lucas himself had no outstanding traits whatsoever, so what exactly were the others who were inquiring about Lucas after?

And they were all transcendent beings.

Angel had only sought information on Lucas to clear up his doubts. Whether he found anything or not, he had not cared much. But now, several groups of people looking for news about Lucas had suddenly emerged, giving him an odd feeling.

What had begun as a passing curiosity was now growing stronger and stronger.

Angel intended to continue digging deeper into Lucas's past. After all, Lucas's sailing log was still in his hands, and it contained several specific locations that he planned to visit...

"Anjou Dynasty—Lost Song City?" Angel remembered that the sailing log had mentioned how Lucas, distrusted by others, had decided to kill himself. The place where he had chosen to do so was Lost Song City.

If Lucas had truly killed himself in Lost Song City, then neither his ship nor his remains should have appeared in the Devil Sea, much less been recorded in the sailing log.

But the final entry in the sailing log was about Lucas's suicide, so Angel planned to go there and take a look.

Before that, however, Angel needed to confirm one thing.

Who exactly was investigating Lucas?

That purple-haired woman who could transform into a bird was probably impossible to trace for the time being. But Gorman had said that the first group would return for more information, and when they did, he could go have a look.

As Angel pondered, Charles's coughing came from outside the carriage.

Angel assumed it was because of the bitter cold and paid it no mind. But Nite, seated nearby, rubbed the
