Marcel District.
"Angel lived here?" Si Man looked at the old building with its mottled walls. "He wasn't very picky, was he?"
"Lady Si Man..." Seeing Si Man's cold glare sweep over, Helen forcibly swallowed the word "Lady" back down her throat. "Wait here for a moment. I'll go upstairs and let Angel know first."
"Go on. I'll wait here." Si Man did not consider being made to wait an insult. After all, the other party was a renowned alchemist. Not just her—even if Madam Pei were here, she would likely treat him with courtesy.
Helen ran upstairs. Before long, she returned to the small garden in the middle of the street with a frown.
"What, judging by that expression, he doesn't intend to see me?" Si Man raised a brow.
Helen shook her head. "No. I only discovered after going upstairs that Lord Pat had already left. There was no one in the room. I only found this note in the living room."
Si Man took the note. A line of elegant, neat handwriting was written upon it.
"Regretfully, I did not find a suitable gifted one in Yuesè City. Therefore, I plan to visit other cities and take a look. I will not bid you farewell. If fate allows, we shall meet again. May you remain well. —Left by Pat."
It was a very simple message, not addressed to anyone in particular, but it was clearly meant for Alwin and Helen.
"He actually left just like that?" After reading it, Si Man shook her head regretfully. "It seems every organization is much the same when it comes to Guide missions—worrying your heart out and having to put in the effort!"
*What a pity I didn't get to meet him this time. That is a future master alchemist! Sigh...
