Ship's Grave

This island, having lost its natural chain, could already be considered an island of death. No matter how one looked at it, it did not seem like a place where treasure could be hidden. What exactly had Lucas meant by choosing this place to hide his treasure? And what was his treasure, exactly? Could it really refer to these ships?

With his head full of questions, Angel entered the Ship's Grave.

There were far too many ships here, stretching beyond sight. Their conditions varied wildly; some did not even show obvious damage. If they had not been piled among the wrecks, unable to move, they could have continued sailing.

Angel began by inspecting the ships stranded along the shore.

"Winter Hunt." This was an exploration vessel with its name painted on its hull, its figurehead a vicious octopus baring its fangs and claws.

Winter Hunt was badly damaged. Angel stepped onto its deck, and before he had taken more than a few steps, he stomped through a huge hole. The ship was utterly empty, without even a corpse. It was so clean that it seemed like a vessel that had never left port.

Angel continued along the coast, searching several ships in succession. Their basic circumstances were much the same as Winter Hunt's.

The cabins were spacious and empty, with obvious signs that cargo had been removed. There were no corpses either... This meant that many ships, unlike Night Hibiscus, had not suffered an accident the moment they arrived and lost most of their crew. Their empty interiors were more likely because the people aboard had moved the supplies out themselves.

But where they had gone would require further investigation.
