There had been nothing major at New Ross Count's Estate this week. To them, the biggest novelty was that Young Master Nite and the maid who guarded Shelley Garden seemed to have gotten together. Most strangely, the Count had not stopped them. This meant that sparrows truly might have their day of leaping onto branches and becoming phoenixes. Thus, in the hearts of many unmarried young maidens dreaming of love, little deer began to prance.

Besides that, there was another piece of news. The wizard everyone had thought had already left had actually been secluded in hiding all along, returning to the Count's Estate after a week. Of course, they were merely curious about this. Given their status, they did not dare gossip about the wizard.

At this moment, Angel, having returned to the Count's Estate, was in the study reading a novel borrowed from the municipal library—Demonic Night's Tide Song.

It was an adventure novel based on Tulas, the legendary pirate known as the King of Ferocity two thousand years ago. Part of it drew upon unofficial histories, while part had been fabricated by the author. The plot rose and fell in dramatic twists, and Angel found himself thoroughly engrossed.

Whenever he reached an exciting passage, he would occasionally send his spiritual power into the Church of the Dead to see whether Tulas, lying on the ground shrouded in black mist, possessed any trace of the mighty and domineering legendary pirate depicted in the book.

However, Tulas remained unconscious even now, listless and dispirited, making it difficult to reconcile him with the image in the novel.

Angel continued reading. He had reached an exciting part where Tulas, sword in hand, battled the bandit group known as the Sea Emperor in hopes of reclaiming the promised land that all seafarers
