When Tulas had just died, there had been a period when he had not yet fallen into undeath and remained in a soul state. His soul had slipped free from his flesh. At the time, he had not realized he was dead; he only noticed that his body felt very light and began floating upward.
In the end, he had actually emerged from the underground tunnel and passed through the earth.
Though passing through the ground had made his body somewhat uncomfortable, he had truly succeeded in passing through the thick earth.
Thinking he had gained extraordinary abilities—able to fly and pass through the earth—he had wanted to leave this Four Directions Sea sealed off by fog. He had flown desperately toward the sky, only to discover that even the heavens above his head had no way out.
Only then had Tulas finally understood that he seemed to have been shut inside a world like a box, with no exit on any side.
So, dejected, he had returned to the underground tunnel.
He still remembered that when he returned to the tunnel, he had muttered, "What use is flying through the sky and burrowing through the earth? It would be better to give me the ability to teleport through space, then I could teleport straight out..."
The moment he looked up, he saw a steady golden light shining from within the skull beside the bed. It remained lit for several minutes.
But Tulas had not found it strange. During the time he had been lingering at death's door, that skull had often glowed, and he had long grown accustomed to it. He had ignored the skull's light and simply wanted to return to the bed to rest and reduce his expenditure... though at that moment, he had not felt hungry
