By the time they arrived in Saint Saim City, it was already deep into the night.
Saint Saim City shared the exact same heritage of style as Bolai Town, brimming with an artistic air everywhere. People rowed boats along the Saint Yin River that ran through the city, singing as they went. Some even recited poetry loudly to the starry sky and the visitors along both banks.
What Angel would normally have found unbearably embarrassing seemed far less affected amid Saint Saim City's inherently artistic atmosphere, and no longer looked awkward.
Every citizen enjoyed the cultural atmosphere here in both body and soul. Even merchants and street vendors dressed with a strong artistic flair.
After Angel and Frod entered the city, they instead became exceptions.
Frod was dressed with great precision, the very image of a Saint Saim noble. Angel, on the other hand, looked slovenly, uninhibited, and lazily disheveled. If not for the apparent quality of his clothes, and Frod serving as such a respectable example beside him, the city guards would likely have mistaken him for a vagrant and driven him out.
"Mr. Pat, why did you change yourself into this face and attire?" Frod asked curiously. If Angel had shown his true face, the looks from those around them would probably have been admiring rather than disdainful.
"Just to avoid some trouble." Angel paused. "Besides, why care about other people's eyes?"
Frod did not ask what this so-called trouble was. He merely followed Angel in silence toward the district where the palace stood.
Along the way, they occasionally heard wandering bards chanting poems. From nearby taverns with their doors open, the mellow music of instruments would sometimes drift out. Angel even saw paintings spread out along the riverbank, depicting the starry sky, the river, and beautiful women.
