Just as Angel put away his notebook and prepared to think more deeply about Dream Wilderness, Sinafa's voice reached his ears.
"All members of the supply team, gather at the Central Guard Hall."
Angel pushed open the door and found Madeleine already waiting outside.
"It seems Frost Moon has reached a decision regarding Cinder Rock's future. Let's go."
"What kind of decision will it be?" Angel asked.
"What else could it be? Either send them back to the Wizarding World or reassign the personnel. But it has nothing to do with us. Our mission is to head deeper into the front lines, into an Abyss that is deeper and more dangerous." Madeleine shrugged. "I imagine Sinafa called us over to arrange our next assignment as well."
Madeleine's guess was indeed correct. Sinafa had gathered them this time to discuss their mission.
Sinafa merely informed them when they would be leaving Cinder Rock and gave them their next destination: in three days, they would head to the Gray Overlap Zone.
After explaining that, Sinafa dismissed everyone. She said nothing about how they would handle the people stranded on Cinder Rock.
The Central Guard Hall was the central city of all Cinder Rock, and also the tallest place there. On their way out of the Central Guard Hall, Madeleine led him to a door that opened onto a terrace.
Madeleine had originally intended to fly back to Watchers' Long Street from the terrace. But when Angel stepped onto it and looked down upon the holy city atop this colossal rock, watching the golden radiance illuminate the sea of clouds, he suddenly stopped.
"Earlier, I had a dream."
Madeleine turned her head. She did not ask why Angel had brought up such a subject, merely waiting quietly for what he would say next.
