The outskirts were a field of corpses, littered everywhere with Soft-State Worm carcasses.
At first glance, Angel's brow began to twitch. From the looks of it, the Dreamweaver Ants had indeed invaded the Soft-State Worms' nest!
His spiritual power tentacles continued probing inward. When Angel sensed the situation deep within the nest, he saw a strange sight.
—The depths of the nest were sharply divided.
It was as though an invisible boundary had split the interior into two camps. On one side were the Dreamweaver Ants; on the other were the Soft-State Worms fighting them.
Calling it a battle was inaccurate. It was entirely one-sided, more like the Soft-State Worms were throwing themselves forward to be served up as food for the Dreamweaver Ants.
And this sacrifice was only to stop the Dreamweaver Ants from advancing.
Whenever the Dreamweaver Ants tried to move forward, Soft-State Worms would take the initiative to attack. In the end, the Dreamweaver Ants always won. After winning, they would suck the Soft-State Worms' bodily fluids, then, once full, retreat to their small compartments and sleep like logs. After waking, they would return to the front lines to hunt.
Yet because the Soft-State Worms kept willingly sacrificing themselves, the Dreamweaver Ants had never broken through that "boundary."
On the other side of the boundary, Angel saw countless Soft-State Worms.
"There weren't many eggs to begin with. How could there be so many Soft-State Worms?" Angel frowned. There were so many Soft-State Worms that even with their suicidal assaults, the Dreamweaver Ants could not break through that boundary.
Clearly, something abnormal had happened to the Soft-State Worm population.
Angel instinctively felt that the enormous egg might be the source of everything.
When Angel extended his spiritual power tentacles to the deepest point, he found nothing unusual in
