A voice filled with rage, like the roar of a lion,
exploded overhead like a bolt from the blue.
In an instant, it echoed throughout the vast valley lined with cannon barrels and dotted with fortresses.
At once,
inside Shatan's Gate Base,
Auxiliary Corps soldiers stationed throughout the area looked up.
They saw a broad black silhouette blocking out the blazing sun, casting a vast shadow over them like a curtain.
Though they could not make out the newcomer's appearance,
an uncontrollable unease and tension began rising in everyone's hearts.
The oppressive feeling, as though even breathing had become difficult, made them want to drop to their knees immediately.
Soon, the scorching sunlight poured down again.
The figure had already descended into the base.

A burst of hurried footsteps rang out as an officer-looking man led a squad of soldiers rushing over.
He wore a crisp olive-green summer uniform, a green peaked cap with a black brim, and a tan pistol holster at his waist.
He looked to be in his thirties, with ordinary features, fair skin, and a small mustache beneath his nose.
"Reporting, Admiral Golden Lion!"
"I am Colonel Arthur Ernest Percival, commander of the Second Regiment, Second Brigade, Second Infantry Division, First Army Group of the Auxiliary Corps. I was originally from London, Cow Country, in Demon Slayer World No. 0002. I have been ordered to garrison this location. Please give your instructions!"
The moment he arrived before Shiki, who floated in midair, he nervously introduced himself in a loud voice.
"Colonel?"
Shiki narrowed his sinister eyes as he looked down at the frail-looking man.
"So you're not the officer in charge here. Then what did you say your mission was?"
