"What are you doing, Pochi?"
Psykos, hidden even deeper beneath the Monster Association headquarters, was utterly confused.
She had noticed that Pochi, whom she had sent out, did not seem to have attacked the two intruders.
Since she could only sense the locations of their auras, she did not know the exact situation.
Fortunately, she could communicate with Pochi remotely through psychic power.
Of course, since the latter could not speak, she could only issue one-sided commands.
"Immediately eliminate the two people in front of you!"

Jiwei noticed that the little black dog had suddenly frozen in place, seemingly caught in some kind of inner conflict.
"What's wrong with it?"
Jiwei looked at Aite, hoping he could translate.
Aite immediately barked a few times at Pochi, who promptly responded.
"It says Psykos ordered it to attack us." Aite looked up and explained.
Jiwei raised an eyebrow. "Is Psykos your master?"
Pochi shook its head and barked several times in succession. Aite said:
"It says she doesn't count as its master, just a caretaker—and an unqualified one at that. Most of the time, it has to go hungry and find monsters here to eat on its own."
"That sounds pretty miserable."
Jiwei did not know whether to laugh or cry. He then bent down and smiled. "Take us to find her."
"I need to teach her in person that she has to take proper care of her beloved dog."
"And tell her that I'll raise you from now on!"
Pochi: "Woof woof!"
Aite: "It agreed. It wants us to follow it."
"Alright, let's go!"
A hearty smile appeared on Jiwei's face.
He figured that Psykos must be an important figure in the Monster Association.
