The sky above a seaside port town was covered in rolling thunderclouds, thick and black as ink.

A deafening roar resounded through the heavens.

Blinding lightning flashed endlessly through the clouds like wild silver serpents.

It lit the originally gloomy, oppressive air a ghastly white.

And on the sea below, it was like an asura hell.

Finely crafted wooden warships drifted helplessly amid the waves.

All around them floated the mangled remains and severed carcasses of ferocious sea beasts.

Great swaths of crimson blood had dyed the waters a shocking dark red.

Farther off, at the harbor of Loguetown, the sight was even more inhumanly tragic.

Black scorch marks left by intense heat were everywhere, and the ground was strewn with charred bones and corpses, twisted by flame.

They silently spoke of the brutal fiery slaughter that had just taken place here.

In the sky.

Under one pair of eyes after another, some shocked, some worried, a black shadow—

Rushed at tremendous speed toward that thundercloud giant, vast enough to steal the breath, its face showing the outlines of eyes and a nose.

It was a black-clad swordsman holding a rough-hewn greatsword!

And the figure he rode was an even more terrifying monster radiating a horrifying aura.

It had the head of a lion and the single horn of a bull.

Its forelimbs were a lion's front legs, and its hind legs were a bull's rear legs.

Its whole body was covered in black fur, its tail long and thin, ending in a sharp spike.

Huge bat wings spread from its back, flying through the gale.

In its dark pupils set against pale-blue sclera gleamed bloodthirsty savagery.

Its gaping mouth bared rows of interlocking, razor-sharp teeth.

They were none other than the "Black swordsman" Guts
