A single yin-yang cycle and alternation of day and night in the Lesser Cloud Realm was not much longer than in the Mortal World, so a month here passed especially quickly.
On this day, in an utterly ordinary-looking valley, the ground suddenly began to tremble without warning.
Immediately afterward, vast amounts of Yin Qi surged up from underground, causing the valley's plants to wither and die.
Those weak living creatures were not spared either. They collapsed after taking only a few steps, their physical bodies rapidly turning into white bones!
As vast amounts of Yin Qi steamed forth, waves of ghostly howls rang through the valley. At their most piercing point appeared the phantom of an ancient tower gate, with upturned eaves and hooked corners.
On the walls to either side of its open entrance were two blood-red hexagonal patterns. They resembled both a pair of blood eyes and two patches of rouge, looking exceptionally sinister.
Yet upon closer inspection, one would discover that these two bloodstains were composed of countless blood-colored runes, each one profoundly mysterious.
After a series of flashes, the surrounding Yin Qi frantically poured into those runes, immediately making the tower gate phantom increasingly solid.
In less than an incense stick's time, the entire tower gate became tangible. A plaque hung above it, bearing the three large characters "Gates of Hell" in ancient text!
At this moment, a powerful suction force erupted from the open entrance, wildly devouring the Pure Yin Qi gathered in the valley and sweeping away quite a few low-rank ghosts along with it.
Although the Gates of Hell devoured Yin Qi at an astonishing speed, no matter how much it swallowed, even more Yin Qi surged from underground, as though it had no end at all!
A moment later, the Yin Qi
