Perhaps both possibilities were true at once—Heavenly Dao was luring him into risking his life while digging a pit for him.
"If this is the so-called tribulation, then it really does seem impossible to escape. Even if I realize something is wrong, I could not possibly abandon the thought of destroying the Pure Land Sect.
"But before facing this tribulation, I must first see what trump cards they hold!"
