Seeing William agree, Green finally put away her somewhat sorrowful expression. After thanking him, she turned and left William's sight.
"Heh, still as cold and beautiful as ever."
William chuckled softly to himself, then turned and continued toward the elevator.
He reached the Research Station's platform, took the Orbit Train to the hangar near the surface, boarded a Pelican, left Pluto, and returned to the Phantom, which was hovering in the air.
After returning to the Phantom, William headed to the sleeping quarters where he had once lived. He did not have the Phantom jump back to Earth, instead opting for the more time-consuming conventional voyage.
There were still several hours before the meeting with the UNSC's high-ranking officials and generals. Serena had helped him choose the location and make the arrangements, so he wanted to rest in the sleeping quarters for a while.

"Whoosh." The automatic door to the sleeping quarters opened.
He walked inside.
William loosened his shirt collar, pulled off his tie, removed his suit jacket, and hung them together on the coat rack beside the automatic door.
He walked behind the fixed desk, sat in the office chair, opened the transparent screen only slightly thicker than paper, and pressed the button on the main unit.
The screen soon displayed the desktop icons.
William operated the mouse and opened the company's internal mailbox, where he found the files Serena had prepared for him.
"Tap, tap~"
He double-clicked the files in the mailbox and began reading.
