"Command Center, this is Sparta."
"Spartan Squad, attention. An A-10 will bomb the target manor shortly, erasing all traces."
"Follow the USS escort and evacuate the urban area in secret."
"Sparta received."
"Number Seven."
After John cut communications with the base, Carl approached. She glanced at the women on the bed and asked in an icy tone:
"What do we do with them? Classify them as D-class personnel?"
"No."
John first ordered Mylon, "Number Three, bind and gag that thing."
"Yes."
Only then did he answer Carl flatly, "That thing can very likely control humans through language. Until we know whether the effect is permanent or temporary, they're all dangerous.
"So...
"We're leaving."
John was the first to leave the house after speaking. Mylon followed behind him, carrying the white man over one shoulder.
Before leaving the room, Carl looked back once. She paused for half a second, then turned and followed her teammates.
John and the other two ran to the courtyard before the villa's main entrance.
The eleven Spartans from the other four squads had already cleared out every enemy in the manor and arrived here to regroup.
Immediately afterward, all the Spartans rushed out of the manor.
"Creak!"
"Vzzzt—!"
The instant two Spartans pushed open the manor gates, several USS appeared, having deactivated their Optical Camouflage. Kent was among them.
The major slung his rifle across his front, pulled down his mask to reveal his face, and walked up before the Spartans. Lowering his voice, he praised them:
"Spartans, congratulations on passing your coming-of-age ceremony."
The Spartans all puffed out their chests. Though their expressions remained cold, they could not conceal their pride.
"All right, hand them their equipment, Sergeant."
Kent waved his hand, put his mask back on, and vanished into the darkness under his camouflage.
