After hearing William's plan, Halsey nodded deeply in agreement and said:

"Moreover, even if a God-class civilization abandons war as an act, that doesn't mean they won't use it. The Forerunners, for example, crossed the Precursors' bottom line.

"To test whether we humans possessed the ability to inherit their legacy, as well as to eliminate the Forerunners, the Precursors created the Flood to sweep across the entire galaxy.

"William, this was merely one of the Precursors' methods of punishing the Forerunners. They even 'racked their brains' to devise a biological weapon for the sake of us humans."

"It probably was." William agreed with Halsey's guess.

"Beep~!"

Just then, a rather piercing alarm rang throughout the warship, and warning lights flashed red everywhere.

The employees below the corridor froze for a moment, but quickly reacted and hurried toward their respective stations to prepare for battle.

Interrupted by the sudden turn of events, William and Halsey stopped dwelling on the matter of Level Three and God-class civilizations. Instead, they both looked around with solemn expressions.

"Boss." Serena's voice came over the broadcast. "We've detected an enemy situation. Please return to the bridge immediately."

Hearing this.

William turned to Halsey and gave a wry smile. "Looks like our trip to the Ark won't be as simple as we imagined. Come on, my wife."

"Mm-hmm." Halsey had no objections. She nodded at William with a faint smile.

The couple then quickly left the aerial corridor and hurried back toward the bridge nearby.

Not long after.

William and Halsey returned to the bridge and took the lift to its second level.

Seeing Serena operating something beside the Central Control Console, William said nothing. He led Halsey quickly to the console.

He asked in a low voice, "Serena, where's the enemy?"
