"Miner?!"

After hearing the Guide's mocking tone, Mylon grew even angrier. Holding the Ultra-Heavy Bolter in his left hand, he freed his right and reached for the Guide as if trying to catch a fly.

He roared, "Hey! You ball, stop looking for trouble! If I catch you, I'll squeeze you until you explode!!"

"Easy, Mylon." Just as Mylon was about to seriously grab the Guide, William approached at the right moment and stopped him from making the situation worse.

William also stowed the Gauss Submachine Gun in his hand, attaching it to the small of his Power Armor's back. Then he raised his head and calmly addressed the somewhat unreliable Guide:

"I'm the leader of these soldiers, William Russell. May I ask why you've come?"

"Hum~~" After hearing William's words, the Guide hummed a little tune again as it descended, finally stopping at eye level with William.

After observing William for a moment, the Guide's single eye flickered with orange light, and it answered in a more serious tone:

"I am the Guide of Great Device 000, Sorrowful Solitude, designation 001. I'm pleased to speak with you, Reclaimers."

"Sorrowful Solitude..."

After hearing the self-introduction of the one called Sorrowful Solitude, William repeated the name softly, but he had no memories whatsoever of this Guide.

Sorrowful Solitude continued speaking on its own: "Since the Flood has already contaminated Great Device 000, that means the entire Milky Way Galaxy has fallen into absolute danger...

"Hum~... Your armor also meets the Miner rank. Come, I need your help."

As Sorrowful Solitude finished speaking, a pale-blue light enveloped it and William, who stood before it.

With two flashes of light, William and Sorrowful Solitude vanished before everyone's eyes, as if they had suddenly been teleported to another area.
