Description:
The Athena-class flagship was Umbrella's third large flagship after the Infinity-class and Star Killer-class.
The ship's appearance followed that of the Star Killer-class. Overall, it was an enlarged version of the Star Killer-class, with an absolute enhancement in firepower.
The Athena-class specifications were as follows;
Length: approximately 110 km.
Width: approximately 60 km.
Height: approximately 20 km.
Electromagnetic Accelerator Cannon array: 8 mounts, each with ten 30-ton-class electromagnetic cannons.
Projectile weight of the main Electromagnetic Accelerator Cannon: 12,000 tons.
The remaining Gauss Point Defense Cannons, large-caliber Gauss Cannons, Plasma Cannons, beam particle cannons, and Tactical missile launch bays were all four times the number aboard a Star Killer-class flagship.
The required crew, the number of Combat Troops it could accommodate, and the numbers of carrier-based aircraft and ground vehicles were also four times those of the Star Killer-class.
Because the main cannon barrels were a full eighty kilometers long, the power of the Athena-class flagship's electromagnetic cannons far surpassed the previous Mag Electromagnetic Cannons.
The Athena-class electromagnetic cannons could accelerate 12,000-ton Tungsten projectiles to more than seventy percent of the speed of light, with a maximum of eighty percent.
With the assistance of the Templar Defender, the Athena-class construction period was only around six months, while Reach could begin constructing four ships simultaneously.
By the beginning of the third quarter of 2052, all nine Athena-class flagships had entered service and been assigned to nine fleets.
Note: Under normal circumstances, the Elite Fleet operated together with Fleet Zero and was a subordinate fleet of Fleet Zero.
