Inside the courtyard, Jiang Lin sat opposite Jiu Yi while Mo Li gently tugged at the hem of his robe, half of her body hidden behind him as a pair of bright, large eyes sized up Jiu Yi with a mix of curiosity and vigilance.
Whenever their gazes met, Jiu Yi would greet her with a gentle smile, her seductive fox-like eyes shedding much of their allure and taking on a great deal of composure.
Fang Minmin had excused herself to wander around outside the courtyard and had not come in, leaving only Jiang Lin and Jiu Yi. Jiang Lin felt as though he were sitting on pins and needles, and for some reason, he had the distinct feeling of an affair being discovered by the First Wife.
Yet upon closer reflection, there was nothing going on between him and Mo Li's Sister; his conscience was clear, so what was he nervous about?
The problem, however, was that Mo Li's Sister seemed to have feelings for him.
And to be honest, did he not have feelings for Mo Li's Sister?
That, naturally, was impossible.
If anyone dared to lay a hand on Mo Li, he would chop that bastard's dog head off.
