In late December, Christmas and the winter break arrived. Apart from the Premier League, leagues in every country had more or less come to a halt.
At the beginning of January, Real Madrid received an invitation from a sponsor to play a friendly in Doha, Qatar, against Paris Saint-Germain. As a result, Real Madrid's training camp after the winter break was arranged in Dubai, in the Middle East.
As it happened, Yang Yang had been invited to Dubai to receive an award, so he simply brought his wife, Su Ye, and their son along for a vacation in the Middle East.
While Europe was enduring a freezing winter, the climate in the Middle East was perfect.
After Yang Yang's family arrived in Dubai, they disappeared from the media's sight. Apart from attending the awards ceremony, no one managed to find out where he was. This was intentional on Yang Yang's part. He did not like having to constantly guard against reporters during the brief time he spent with his family. It was exhausting.
After enjoying a wonderful week off and spending Christmas, Yang Yang headed to Real Madrid's training camp to report in.
