Wolf Dad's Fury.
Night on the Arctic Continent.
Hiss. Hiss. The sound of a vehicle driving across the ice and snow in the distance made Su Lin turn his pair of faintly glowing green eyes toward it.
The Off-road Vehicle was about a hundred meters away from him.
He made no move.
He merely watched quietly as the Off-road Vehicle departed.
Though the Arctic Continent was a frozen wilderness, it still had its share of explorers and research scholars.
Nowadays, humans and animals mostly coexisted harmoniously.
Many Nature Reserves had even been established to protect animals' habitats.
Therefore, as long as they were not vicious poachers, there was nothing much to worry about.
Su Lin had been human in his previous life, so he still retained a measure of goodwill toward humans.
"Awoo!"
After watching the Off-road Vehicle leave, Su Lin gave a low howl, signaling Little Gray, who had been hiding in the brush without showing itself, to come eat.
Little Gray had lain in the snow for two or three hours, and its body had gone slightly numb from the cold.
Only after hearing Su Lin's call did it stretch its Wolf Body before happily trotting over to the Musk Ox carcass and beginning to eat.
As it ate, it gave low howls, expressing both its reverence for its brave and invincible boss and its excitement at having food.
Meanwhile, Su Lin found two round branches nearby. He intended to use the same method as when he had transported the Arctic Reindeer last time to haul the hunted Musk Ox back to the cave.
One Musk Ox was enough to feed the entire wolf pack for several days.
Although wolves would be fine even if they went ten days or half a month without eating,
if there was plenty of food, they still wanted to eat their fill every day.
Especially Wolf Sister, who was still in a period of rapid growth. Daily food was very important to her while she was still young.
Su Lin had now advanced to Level 5, and his strength had increased greatly compared with before.
His speed had reached nearly thirty meters per second,
and the force of his Wolf Claw strikes, the bite strength of his teeth, and the power of his running pounces had all improved dramatically.
His Wolf Body had also reached 1.6 meters. Including his Wolf Tail, his body length exceeded two meters.
With a build like that, he was not much smaller than Wolf Dad.
After circling the area and confirming that there was no danger, he prepared to leave with the hunted Musk Ox.
Little Gray was still wolfing down meat, its belly visibly swelling.
Out in the icy wilderness, eating until six or seven parts full was enough. Otherwise, it would hinder one's movements.
So Su Lin walked over and gave it One Claw across the head.
The blow sent it rolling twice before it scrambled back up, howling pitifully.
Su Lin did not explain, because Little Gray's simple mind could not understand overly complicated principles.
Only bloody reality and force could make it remember.
"Awoo!"
Su Lin gave an impatient low howl, signaling Little Gray to come drag the prey.
Little Gray was aggrieved, but it still ran over diligently.
After all, in its mind, everything its boss did was right. Su Lin possessed unquestionable authority.
Little Gray was close to breaking through to Level 3. As a mutant, it was also quite strong.
With its help pulling, Su Lin did not have to exert much effort.
On the way back, they also encountered other Hunters drawn by the scent of blood.
It was an Arctic Wolf Pack with one male and two females.
On the Arctic Continent, a pack like the one led by Wolf Dad, with eight adult Arctic Wolves, was already considered quite powerful.
Most wolf packs consisted of only three or four scattered wolves.
The strongest male Arctic Wolf in the pack blocking their way only had Level 5 attributes, while the other two females were merely Level 4 and Level 3.
Su Lin did not regard such strength as worthy of notice.
As long as they dared to make a move, Su Lin would not mind teaching this wolf pack a painful lesson.
However, the leading male Arctic Wolf clearly sensed that Su Lin was not someone to provoke.
After giving two low howls and facing off for a while, it wisely retreated.
After that, Su Lin and Little Gray dragged the Musk Ox carcass back to the cave.
As soon as they approached the cave, they saw Wolf Dad patrolling nearby.
As the alpha wolf, Wolf Dad was very responsible and often patrolled its territory.
At that moment, Su Lin released the prey, leaped onto a massive boulder with his Wolf Body, and let out a long howl to signal Wolf Dad that he had returned.
Hearing the howl, Wolf Dad, who was out on patrol, immediately turned his pair of glowing green eyes toward him.
The cubs are back?
The worry that had been hanging over its heart finally began to ease.
When it woke up and found Su Lin and Little Gray gone from the cave, it had been worried the entire time.
After all, food was scarce on the Arctic Continent now, and many Hunters would eat almost anything.
It had been concerned for the cubs' safety.
Of course, besides that,
Wolf Dad was the unquestioned alpha of the wolf pack.
It was also furious that Su Lin and Little Gray had left on their own.
Two little cubs were already beginning to disobey it. How was it supposed to control the entire wolf pack in the future?
Wolf Dad had pent-up anger in its heart. Now that it saw the cubs had returned, it was ready to teach them a harsh lesson.
But very quickly, Wolf Dad's keen sense of smell caught a thick scent of blood.
In the deep night, its wolf eyes reflected a faint green glow,
allowing it to vaguely see large patches of blood on its cub's once flawlessly white fur.
Wolf Dad could not help baring its Fangs! Was the cub injured? "Awoo!"
It let out an enraged howl and charged over at top speed.
Su Lin naturally saw Wolf Dad rushing toward him as well.
"Awoo!"
He gave Wolf Dad a long howl.
After rushing over, Wolf Dad came straight to Su Lin, stretching out its tongue to lick Su Lin's fur everywhere.
Though it did not seem to treat Su Lin as well as Wolf Mom did, its concern for its cub was no less deep.
Seeing Su Lin covered in blood, its glowing green wolf eyes filled with ferocity and killing intent.
Hm? This scent of blood is wrong. It isn't the cub's.
Wolf Dad's sense of smell was keen, and it quickly distinguished the scent of the blood.
Su Lin gave a low howl then, signaling Wolf Dad to look behind him.
Wolf Dad turned its head and soon saw Little Gray, which was still holding the prey in its jaws.
Little Gray was still straining with all its might to drag the Musk Ox.
Unfortunately, without Su Lin's help, even with the branches reducing the friction,
it could only drag the carcass a short distance before collapsing in place, tongue hanging out as it panted heavily.
Wolf Dad merely glanced at Little Gray's silly appearance before ignoring it.
Its gaze finally settled on the Musk Ox carcass being dragged along.
"Awoo!"
Wolf Dad jumped down from the boulder, walked over, and sniffed it. It could hardly believe this was a Musk Ox. It had barely been able to accept it when its cub had hunted several Arctic Hares last time.
After all, Arctic Hares were not very aggressive. Aside from their sharp hearing and quick speed, there was nothing especially noteworthy about them.
With sufficient experience and patience, anyone could hunt them.
But this was a Musk Ox! Even it would not dare provoke a Musk Ox of this size.
If it was accidentally gored by those horns, it would be crippled.
Therefore, Wolf Dad, which had originally planned to teach the cub a harsh lesson,
fell silent upon seeing the Musk Ox carcass.
Then it turned its head again and noticed that the cub had grown another size, its build already faintly comparable to its own.
Strength, build, Hunt, food.
The scene before it seemed to silently declare that this cub had apparently surpassed it.
